İngilizce Saat Nasıl Söylenir?

İngilizcede saatleri söylemenin iki yaygın yöntemi vardır. Her iki yöntem de günlük konuşmalarda sıkça kullanılır. İşte bu yöntemler ve örnekler:

🕒 1) Önce Saat, Sonra Dakika (Hour + Minutes)

Bu yöntemde önce saat, sonra dakika söylenir.

  • 6:25 → It's six twenty-five

  • 8:05 → It's eight O-five (Buradaki “O” harfi, sıfır anlamında kullanılır ve “ou” gibi okunur.)

  • 9:11 → It's nine eleven

  • 2:34 → It's two thirty-four

Bu kullanım özellikle dijital saatlerde yaygındır.

🕓 2) Dakika + PAST / TO + Saat

Bu yöntemde dakikayı önce söyleyip ardından saat bilgisini veriyoruz.

  • PAST (geçiyor) → Dakika 1 ile 30 arasındaysa kullanılır.

  • TO (var) → Dakika 31 ile 59 arasındaysa, bir sonraki saate kalan süreyi ifade etmek için kullanılır.

Örnekler:

  • 2:35 → It's twenty-five to three (Üçe yirmi beş var)

  • 11:20 → It's twenty past eleven (On biri yirmi geçiyor)

  • 4:18 → It's eighteen past four (Dördü on sekiz geçiyor)

  • 8:51 → It's nine to nine (Dokuza dokuz var)

  • 2:59 → It's one to three (Üçe bir var)

⏰ Özel İfadeler

▪️ Quarter – Çeyrek

  • 7:15 → It's (a) quarter past seven (Yediyi çeyrek geçiyor)

  • 12:45 → It's (a) quarter to one (Bire çeyrek var)

▪️ Half – Buçuk

  • 3:30 → It's half past three (Üç buçuk – Dört’e yarım var)

🕕 O'clock – Tam Saatlerde

Dakika belirtilmeyecekse, tam saatlerde o'clock kullanılır.

  • 10:00 → It's ten o'clock

  • 5:00 → It's five o'clock

  • 1:00 → It's one o'clock

Yazılı dilde 9 o'clock gibi sayı + "o'clock" şeklinde de gösterilir.
