Apprendre à compter en anglais est une compétence essentielle pour les apprenants ESL. Voici un guide simple et efficace pour apprendre les nombres en anglais.

Les nombres de 1 à 10
Ces chiffres sont la base de tous les nombres en anglais :

🔹 1 - One
🔹 2 - Two
🔹 3 - Three
🔹 4 - Four
🔹 5 - Five
🔹 6 - Six
🔹 7 - Seven
🔹 8 - Eight
🔹 9 - Nine
🔹 10 - Ten

💡 Astuce : Faites attention à la prononciation de "three" (θriː) et "eight" (eɪt), qui peuvent être difficiles pour certains apprenants.

Les nombres de 11 à 20
Ces nombres ont des noms spécifiques et ne suivent pas toujours un schéma clair :

🔹 11 - Eleven
🔹 12 - Twelve
🔹 13 - Thirteen
🔹 14 - Fourteen
🔹 15 - Fifteen
🔹 16 - Sixteen
🔹 17 - Seventeen
🔹 18 - Eighteen
🔹 19 - Nineteen
🔹 20 - Twenty

💡 Astuce : Les nombres de 13 à 19 se terminent par -teen, d’où le nom de "teen numbers" en anglais.

Compter par dizaines : de 30 à 100
Une fois les bases maîtrisées, compter par dizaines devient plus simple :

🔹 30 - Thirty
🔹 40 - Forty (attention, ce n'est pas fourty !)
🔹 50 - Fifty
🔹 60 - Sixty
🔹 70 - Seventy
🔹 80 - Eighty
🔹 90 - Ninety
🔹 100 - One hundred

💡 Astuce : Le nombre 40 s’écrit forty et non fourty !

Compter par dizaines : de 30 à 100
Une fois les bases acquises, compter par dizaines devient plus facile :

🔹 30 - Thirty
🔹 40 - Forty (attention, ce n'est pas fourty !)
🔹 50 - Fifty
🔹 60 - Sixty
🔹 70 - Seventy
🔹 80 - Eighty
🔹 90 - Ninety
🔹 100 - One hundred

💡 Astuce : Le nombre 40 s’écrit forty et non fourty !

Les nombres intermédiaires (21-99)
Pour les nombres entre 21 et 99, on utilise la dizaine + un tiret + l’unité :

🔹 21 - Twenty-one
🔹 32 - Thirty-two
🔹 45 - Forty-five
🔹 57 - Fifty-seven
🔹 68 - Sixty-eight
🔹 79 - Seventy-nine
🔹 86 - Eighty-six
🔹 99 - Ninety-nine

💡 Astuce : Notez bien l’utilisation du tiret (-) entre la dizaine et l’unité !

Comment dire 100 en anglais ?
Le nombre 100 se dit "one hundred", mais dans la conversation courante, on peut aussi dire "a hundred".
